Rising Casualties and Humanitarian Strain in Gaza

Since Israel’s war on Gaza began, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Sunday that at least 58,026 Palestinians have died.
On the same day, Israeli airstrikes killed at least 95 Palestinians. Fifteen civilians, including Dr Ahmed Qandil, a general surgery consultant at Baptist Hospital, were struck by drones at a public market in Gaza City. Elsewhere, ten people—including six children—were killed at a water distribution point in Nuseirat. The Israeli military later described the strike as the result of a “malfunction.”
Since the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) started operating in May, at least 833 Palestinians have died while waiting in food queues.
According to COGAT, nearly 100 tonnes of UNICEF-donated baby formula entered Gaza on Sunday through the Karam Abu Salem crossing.
The lawyer for Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, former director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, revealed that his client has lost over a third of his body weight and endured starvation, torture, and solitary confinement during detention.

An investigation by two Israeli news outlets found that the Israeli military is retrofitting commercial drones to drop hand grenades as part of efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians. These drones, originally built for photography, are now weaponised.
Doctors report a surge in meningitis infections among Gaza’s children. UN vaccine supplies have been severely restricted due to the Israeli blockade, and the GHF does not provide medicines or vaccines.
