The third report on solutions to reduce CO2 emissions looks at ways of cutting emissions and follows the two earlier reports that showed climate change is caused by human activity and assessed the effects of climate change.

This latest edition from the UN’s climate science panel comes as the world is suffering a huge energy crisis that has been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine and breaks down in relations with Russia and at a time when it had been hoped the world would be moving closer together to reduce the impact of climate change and limit temperature rises.

Investing in renewables is seen as the best way to achieve energy independence; the EU has said they will come up.
