The World Heritage Convention turns 50, and UNESCO hosts a global conference on November 17th -18th  on the challenges of preserving world heritage.

On the agenda is the effect of climate on world heritage, the importance of doing more to preserve African heritage as well as announcing a new three-pronged action plan to make World Heritage more representative, accessible and sustainable over the coming decades.
