Asked to advise the Muslim community in Sweden, an official told Aljazeera: “When the social services receive a notice stating that there is a child in danger, the official who receives the notice must act immediately; he/she should take the child from the kindergarten or school without the parents’ knowledge, and the child is immediately transferred to a temporary care home, then assessment and verification follows.

According to statistics and records, the possibility of the child’s return, to his/her home after a week – 4 months is highly likely, if there is no evidence that there was no abuse/violence against the child, consequently, there will be no danger that might threaten the child’s physical & psychological well-being. The possibility of social services child’s return to his/her home remains even after a year or two, but it may gradually decrease after such a long period…”
