Vice President Kamala Harris participates in a virtual roundtable with representatives from Guatemalan community-based organisations, hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City, to discuss why Guatemalan people are leaving their country in large numbers for the U.S/Mexico border, in the hope of a better life in the United States.
Biden has tasked Harris to lead the White House effort to address the migration crisis on the southern border and said last week that she intends to visit Mexico and Guatemala soon as part of her plan to use diplomatic efforts to slow migration to the U.S/Mexican border.
