The arrival of people across the English Channel from France’s ramshackle refugee camps is a rallying point for the UK government and the far–right. A small team of volunteers is now watching from the cliffs of England for the boats, to guard against their maltreatment by UK Border Force personnel or their interception by far-right groups. The volunteers remain anonymous after threats against them.
