Thousands of people have emigrated have immigrated from Hong Kong/Aljazeera.
A change to Hong Kong’s immigration law takes effect on Sunday, August 1, which critics say will give the authorities unlimited powers to stop people from leaving or entering the Chinese-controlled territory. It follows last year’s imposition of wide-ranging national security law. Since then thousands of people have emigrated and the exodus is growing.
