Based on Fatima Samlol’s case, a Swedish official told Aljazeera that “In Sweden, any individual, state agency or department can lodge a formal complaint stating concerns related to families &  children. The complaint can be submitted over the phone, via e-mail, or in-person to the Swedish Social Services.”

Aljazeera: We have a case of Fatima Samlol whose son had been taken away from her as a result of a complaint from an unfriendly neighbor who has issues with immigrants!

“All complaints are assessed rigorously,” the official said.”

Aljazeera: “But you might be aware that hate speech and Islamophobia push many Swedish citizens to give false reports on Muslim families as Mrs. Samlol reiterates …”

” I don’t believe there is prejudice. However, sometimes reports may be provided by an unknown person, but such reports remain weak. The reliable reports come from official sources, such as schools, neighborhood’s clinics, hospitals, family doctors  and social workers,  information can also be provided by relatives or neighbors …”

Aljazeera: But Fatima Samlol’s neighbor provided fake information based on hatred!
