RELOCATION OF INTERPRETERS AND FAMILIES TO U.S.
The first flight carrying more than 200 Afghan evacuees from Kabul has arrived in the U.S. They represent a fraction of the 20 thousand Afghan contractors and their families who helped the U.S. war effort in Afghanistan. The rest are still waiting to leave the country, they’re desperate as the Taliban makes territorial gains.

FIGHTING
Fighting continues, with both the Taliban and the government claiming gains in various parts of the country. A nighttime curfew is in place.
Data from U.S. Forces show that attacks have increased significantly since the signing of the U.S.-Taliban agreement of February 2020.
Ongoing fighting has displaced at least 19,950 people to various districts of Kunar and Nangahar provinces and has reduced people’s access to basic services.
