farmers’ Rights/ India

Published on: 10 January, 2021

Protesting farmers in the Indian state of Punjab have vandalised 1,500 cellphone towers and forced the closure of 29 petrol stations belonging to one of India’s biggest companies Reliance.

For more than six weeks, hundreds of thousands of farmers have been protesting against new agriculture laws, which they say will allow large corporations to set prices for their produce and exploit farmers.
