UN Secretary-General Guterres is visiting Iraq.

He meets with Iraq’s president, PM, FM, and parliament speaker.

Issues likely to be on agenda are disputes between the Baghdad administration and the KRG government; the oil and gas file and IDPs.

The UN believes it can play a role to settle those disputes through its mission in Iraq UNAMI.

Today, Thursday, he visits a camp for displaced people in the north of the country, before going to Erbil to meet with representatives of the regional government of Iraqi Kurdistan

His last visit to the country was back in the spring of 2017.
