Thousands of women took part in marches across the capital and other cities, highlighting the ongoing crisis of violence against women in Mexico.

A painful reminder, the marches underscored the fact that many women in Mexico are murdered or go missing each day.

According to U.N. Women, approximately 10 women were killed daily in Mexico, with the total reaching 3,000 in 2023.

Thousands more were reported missing.

Many of these deaths remain unpunished due to flaws in the justice system, which often dismisses cases or fails to investigate them adequately.

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported that over 40 percent of Mexican women aged 15 and older have experienced some form of violence in their lives.
