More than two million people have been affected by the floods in Maiduguri in Borno state, Nigeria.

Search and rescue continue for those people cut off by the flooding.

At least 37 people have been confirmed dead after a dam broke, flooding homes, schools, hospitals and farms.

Maiduguri is the capital of Borno state, and home to more than 2 million, many of them IDPs fleeing armed groups in the region such as Boko Haram.

Flooding has affected 29 Nigerian states since mid-August, according to Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency.
