Fighting continues in parts of the country between the Sudanese army and the RSF.
The African Union has appointed Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni as head of a committee to arrange for a meeting between the Sudanese army and the RSF.
The leaders of the two sides were scheduled to meet in December but the meeting, which was planned by IGAD, failed to take place due to technical reasons according to the organization. Sudan’s membership at the AU has been suspended since October 2021 following the military
takeover.
