The UN Human Rights Committee is looking into the killing of at least 14 people in the La Vega neighborhood in Caracas which allegedly happened during a security operation. It’s not the first time the police unit known as FAES has been involved in human rights abuses. NGOs say at least 200 people have been killed in such operations so far this year. The government of President Nicolas Maduro is accused of crimes against humanity by committing systematic human rights violations including killings and torture.
