Executive Director of World Food Programme (WFP) Cindy McCain is due to visit Sudan.
She’s meeting with Burhan, WFP country team and the minister of foreign affairs.
This is her first visit since she was made Executive Director of the WFP, and she’s the second senior U.N. official to visit, the first being the
deputy SG Amina Mohammed.
They will talk about food security, access to people in need and security of aid. Half of Sudan’s population is in need of food assistance to survive, more than 700,000 are facing famine.
At least 120 people were killed past three days by the Rapid Support.
