On Sunday Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian villages in the northern occupied West Bank after two settlers who were
brothers were shot dead by a Palestinian gunman in Huwwara, near the city of Nablus.
Two people (one Israeli, one Palestinian) were killed, hundreds were injured and many Palestinian homes were burned by settlers in the violence that followed.
The Israeli military closed all roads in and out of Jericho.
The UN says the daily average of settler attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank so far this year has been the highest since 2006.
The spike in violence comes as a meeting was held in Jordan on Sunday to de-escalate tensions between Israelis and Palestinians.

Thousands gathered in Tel Aviv on Monday evening to condemn the violence in Nablus and reject the settlers’ agenda.
They carried Palestinian flags and chanted demands for peace and justice.
Since the start of the year, 66 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces and settlers, 65 in the occupied West Bank.
