Senior officials and dozens of international companies will use a two-day health ministry conference to push to improve care.

An estimated million people have acute health needs with half of the health facilities operational in 2019, are no longer functioning due to the security situation and lack of government funding.

In previous years, the government has spent billions to send Libyans abroad for treatment.

Now, they’re focusing on bringing in foreign teams of doctors at a fraction of the costs.

Savings and improvements in health will be a large focus of the event, as well as bringing in medical personnel to help train local doctors, nurses, and technicians.
