Hamas senior official Salah al-Bardaweel, along with his wife and daughter, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Khan Younis early Sunday morning. Since dawn on Saturday, at least 34 Palestinians have been killed across various areas of Gaza.

The ongoing Israeli siege on Gaza has now lasted for weeks, leaving around 2.3 million people without access to food and medical aid. Additionally, only 10 percent of the population has access to drinking water, after Israel cut off power to a crucial desalination plant.

The Southern Gaza desalination plant in Deir al-Balah, which provides drinking water to 600,000 people by converting seawater, relied on a single power line from Israel for its electricity supply.
