The White House has named the members on the Board of Peace which will oversee the technocratic committee.
Tasked with managing the day-to-day governance of post-war Gaza. That will be led by Dr. Ali Shaath, a former Palestinian deputy minister. It is expected that US President Donald Trump will speak about Gaza at the upcoming WEF Davos meeting.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office published on Saturday a statement emphasizing that “the announcement Regarding the composition of the Gaza Executive Board, which is subordinate to the Board of Peace, was not Coordinated with Israel and contradicts its policy.”
U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced the launch of Phase 2 of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
The plan of the Wednesday includes demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction.
The Board of Peace will be chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump and includes U-S Secretary of State Marco Rubio,
Special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law and advisor, Jared Kushner, as well as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. Others are American billionaire Marc Rowan, World Bank Group President Ajay Banga and Robert Gabriel.
The Palestinian technocratic committee consists of 15 members and will be headed by Ali Shaath, a former Palestinian Authority (PA) deputy minister, and will manage daily life in Gaza.
The body of the last Israeli captive, Ran Gvili, is yet to be recovered and handed over to the Israelis.
