Flooding is causing widespread damage and displacement in South Sudan, especially the country’s north.

UN officials say more than 735,000 are affected, among them refugees fleeing the conflict in Sudan.

Flooding happens every year in South Sudan, but this year is the worst in living memory, according to the local research organisation, the Sudd Institute.

Heavy downpours have raised Lake Victoria’s water levels.

Supply routes have been cut and villages submerged.

The UN warns there’s worse flooding to come.
