Female migrant workers

29 November, 2020

Bangladeshi female migrant workers in the Middle East, many employed as domestic workers, have been hit hard by the impact of COVID-19.

Many have lost their jobs and were forced to return home without wages.

They also allege sexual harassment and physical abuse.

Many others died overseas.

Between 2017- 2020, at least 473 dead bodies of female workers arrived in Bangladesh from various countries.
