It’s been 10 years since hundreds of civilians in the Syrian city of Daraya were killed during the early stages of the civil war.

The city had seen several days of heavy fighting between rebels and government forces – and there were allegations that soldiers loyal to President Bashar al-Assad had carried out a massacre after they took the city.

Assad’s government has always maintained any civilian casualties were caused by what it calls armed terrorist groups.

But a new investigation by Syrians living in the West has compiled evidence that suggests government forces carried out
a systematic attack against civilians.
