Around 200 domestic workers holds a demonstration outside Parliament demanding a draft bill to protect rights be ratified immediately.

Domestic workers are regarded as one of the most marginalized or vulnerable groups in the country with reports of sexual violence, missing workers, unpaid wages and losing family identities.

The domestic workers’ protection bill (PPRT bill) seeks to provide legal assurances to domestic workers.

It will regulate working hours, training and education for workers, annual leaves, minimum working age, and Eid bonus.
