The trial of 400 people out of more than 600 who were arrested during protests in Chad continues.

Human rights organizations say more than 2,000 people were arrested during and after the protests, with many families unaware of the whereabouts of their detained relatives.

More than 50 people were killed during the protests that took place on October 20 in several cities across the country
with protesters demanding the military hand over power.

The trial takes place in Koro Toro, a desert area, and charges directed at those accused include unauthorized gatherings, destroying belongings, arson and disturbing public order.
