Pakistan’s National Disaster authority has issued warnings about the possibility of more flash flooding, landslides and snowfalls as weather forecasts predict more rain and snow.

The warnings include some of the areas already impacted by heavy rain.

At least 35 people were killed, and 50 others injured due to heavy rains, caused several houses to collapse and landslides, particularly in the northwest.

in some areas in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan at least 27 rain-related deaths were reported on, with many of the fatalities were women and children.

The Pakistan army has distributed 28 tonnes of food rations to more than 1,300 households and set up medical camps to treat the wounded.

Pakistan is among the 10 most vulnerable countries to climate change despite the South Asian nation’s almost zero contribution to global carbon emissions, according to the United Nations.
