Mass rallies are expected to demonstrate against military rule in Khartoum and other cities in Sudan, to mark the 3rd anniversary of the climax of the protests that toppled Omar al-Bashir.

The date also marks the anniversary of Sudan’s second revolution that overthrew President Jaafar Niemery in 1985.

The army closed major roads leading to the center of Khartoum and blocked all bridges connecting the 3 cities that make up the capital.

More than 90 protestors have been killed in protests against the military rule since Oct. 25th and hundreds have been injured.
