A curfew remains in place with daily breaks from 09G-11G, allowing people to get provisions and move around.
Telecommunications are still suspended.
What started as protests over the return this month of the government’s job quota system, has also swept up others who are concerned about Bangladesh’s sluggish economy.
GDP only expanded by 3.78% in the second quarter of this fiscal year, a notable drop from the 7% growth in the same period the year before, with inflation hovering around 10% the economic landscape appears bleak.
