In an effort to come up with a common position in terms of wildlife conservation, particularly elephant management, representatives of 14 Southern African states are coming together in Zimbabwe.
It is the first time such a meeting is held by African countries without Western organisations, to evaluate the successes and failures.
The global ivory ban is one issue which will be discussed.
