Countries negotiate to tackle the world’s biodiversity crisis.

Their goal is to sign a new ‘Global Biodiversity Framework’ to replace a previous agreement from the last major biodiversity summit in 2010, which did not meet its targets.

The WWF estimates that Earth is losing species at thousands of times the natural extinction rate, due to human-led causes.

China currently holds the presidency of COP15 and is hosting the event, but Canada is the venue.
