The U.S. House of Representatives passed the sweeping $430 billion climate, drug and tax bill passed by the Senate last weekend.

The bill will authorise roughly $370 billion for energy and climate programs, which would be the biggest clean energy investment by the federal government in American history.

The legislation would also extend the Affordable Care Act health insurance subsidies until 2025, let Medicare negotiate lower prescription drug prices and introduce a new 15% minimum tax on corporations with an income of at least $1 billion.

“Today is really a glorious day for us. We send to the president’s desk a monumental bill that will be truly for the people,” the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, said before the final vote. “If you are sitting at your kitchen table and wonder how you’re going to pay the bills – your healthcare bills, your prescription drug bills – this bill is for you.”
