The UN Security Council is scheduled to vote on the Algeria-led UNSC resolution calling for an “an immediate humanitarian ceasefire for a ceasefire”. Amendments are possible during the voting process.
The U.S. has indicated the UNSC does not have consensus, preferring deliberations on this resolution be paused to allow space for
the sensitive negotiations on captives to continue.
