Climate activists say the weather in South Asia has become increasingly difficult to forecast and this uncertainty is impacting the lives of millions in the region.

Pakistan has some of the hottest cities in the world and is now experiencing untimely rain and cooler summer temperatures.

Just weeks ago, people faced extreme heat – Intense heat in northern parts of Bangladesh has reduced tea yield and farmers are concerned that with the failing crop, many factories will stop production of tea.

Climate activists say the local governments need to develop comprehensive weather action plans consistent with international human rights law and standards, to protect the vulnerable from the impacts of extreme weather conditions.

Amnesty International reported on why heatwaves in Pakistan affect the poor the worst.
