The UN’s climate science agency, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change https://www.ipcc.ch/, is releasing the second chapter of its report on global warming.
This is expected to show how dire climate impacts are far outpacing efforts to adapt to them.
Climate hazards will present multiple risks to ecosystems and humans.
The report will lay out the impact already and how limits to adapt are already being reached especially in the global
south.
The release of the report comes as environment officials from around the world meet in Nairobi at the United Nations Environment Assembly to begin talks on a treaty to control plastic pollution.
Negotiations are being held February 28-MAR 2, hosted by the UN Environment Programme, which brings together representatives of the 193 Member States, businesses, civil society, and other stakeholders. https://www.unep.org/environmentassembly/unea5
