Tunisian President Kais Saied’s resolution to suspend parliament for 30 days is due to end today, Tuesday, August 24.

The President has not yet named a PM yet while political parties in the country fear for democracy.

The United States deputy national security adviser has met Tunisia’s president and discussed the urgent need to appoint a prime minister-designate to form a government.

On July 25 the Tunisian President announced the sacking of the PM, the suspension of parliament, and lifting lawmakers’ immunity.
