ِA controversial Texas law (SB 4) can go into effect after the U.S. Supreme Court agreed March 4th, to consider the case.
The legislation had been due to take effect on March 5th but has since been delayed amid legal challenges.
The ACLU describes Texas Senate Bill 4 as ‘the most extreme anti-immigration law passed by any state legislature in the country’.
The legislation would permit local and state law enforcement and magistrates to arrest, detain, and remove people they suspect to have entered Texas from another country without federal authorization.
