Radhouane Nouicer, the UN’s Designated Expert on human rights in Sudan, will visit Port Sudan from July 27th to 31st—his third mission since his appointment in late 2022.

As Sudan’s civil war drags on, Nouicer will meet with officials, UN agencies, humanitarian groups, and civil society representatives, and listen to displaced people now sheltering in the coastal city.

His observations will feed into the UN’s next human rights report, to be presented in March 2026.

With peace talks stalled and violence ongoing, international scrutiny remains one of the few tools left.
