A group of Israeli settlers attacked the occupied West Bank village of Burqa, east of Ramallah, late Monday, setting fire to vehicles and causing extensive damage to several homes. No injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, occupation forces raided Jericho overnight, witnesses said, firing at a car and surrounding a house.
Clashes near the “Mavo Dotan” settlement, southwest of Jenin, left at least one Palestinian dead after confrontations with Israeli forces on Monday.
Christian leaders condemned attacks by settlers on sacred sites across the occupied West Bank. The Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, visiting the Christian town of Taybeh alongside other Jerusalem-based clerics, said settlers had set fire near a cemetery and a fifth-century church there last week. He also reported assaults on local homes, describing a wave of violence that has led some residents to contemplate leaving the territory.
