On Monday, RSF commander Jarnabi Abdullah, known as “The Legend,” released a video on social media claiming responsibility for Sunday’s massacre of 31 individuals in Al Salha, Khartoum State. He denied that the victims were civilians.
That same day, the Sudan Doctors Network issued a statement describing the incident as the largest documented massacre by the RSF to date. Photographs shared online by RSF members and local activists appear to show the mass execution of unarmed individuals.
Also on Sunday morning, RSF drones targeted a power transformer station in the town of Berber, located approximately 40 kilometres north of Atbara in the River Nile State. This strike followed a similar drone attack on Saturday that hit the Atbara power station, which supplies electricity to both the River Nile and the Red Sea States. The attacks caused power outages in both regions.
Meanwhile, the World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a reduction in food assistance across Sudan due to funding shortfalls.
