On Friday, Israeli military operations across the Gaza Strip resulted in at least 48 deaths, according to local medical sources. Among the casualties were 16 civilians seeking food, underscoring the humanitarian crisis unfolding on the ground. Since dawn, the death toll has reached 44 in multiple locations, reflecting a sharp escalation in hostilities.
The World Central Kitchen’s director made a rare visit to Gaza on Friday to supervise relief efforts amid the mounting chaos. Meanwhile, Israeli forces intensified their bombardment, targeting residential areas near Khan Younis early in the day. Several Palestinians were wounded and rushed to the city’s Nasser Hospital.
Compounding the crisis, an Israeli strike near Nasser Hospital damaged a wastewater pipe, causing raw sewage to flood the medical complex. Hospital officials reported that Israeli forces have so far obstructed repair crews from addressing the damage, further endangering patients and staff.
The renewed violence signals a worsening humanitarian and security situation as Israeli operations continue to press deeper into the Gaza Strip.
