The Philippines’ Commission on Elections is considering whether to disqualify presidential frontrunner Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the son of former president Ferdinand Marcos.
Among those opposed to his candidacy: were rights groups including people who suffered during his father’s time as president.
Still, the Marcos heir remains popular, comfortably leading in early electoral polls.
The elections are scheduled for May 9.
