Oscar-winning Palestinian director Basel Adra has alleged that Israeli soldiers raided his home in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, searching for him and examining his wife’s phone.
Adra said Israeli settlers also attacked his village, injuring two of his brothers and a cousin. He told The Associated Press he accompanied his injured relatives to hospital, and while there, received word from family that nine Israeli soldiers had stormed his home.
Israeli forces mounted a series of overnight raids across the occupied West Bank on Saturday, including in Beit Rima, north-west of Ramallah; the Arroub camp, north of Hebron; and Kafr Ra’i in southern Jenin. Several Palestinians were reportedly beaten and detained during the operations.
