Protests have been called in Namibia to demand more compensation for the Namibian genocide.
Protesters are marching towards parliament where parliamentarians are due to meet to hold a session to debate the German
government’s compensation proposal amidst public opposition to the German proposal.
Former colonial power Germany earlier this year conceded it had presided over a genocide in the country between 1904 and 1908 and agreed to contribute $1.3 billion to existing aid programmes.
Many locals say that’s not enough and they want reparations.
