Thousands of people have crossed the border into Thailand this week amid renewed fighting between rebel groups in the southern Karen state and the Myanmar armed forces, several media reports said.
Those fleeing the violence in Myanmar have been housed in temporary shelters in Tak province of Thailand, Reuters reports.
The provincial govt in Thailand said it was monitoring the situation.
In February 2021, the military junta seized power after ousting the elected, civilian government, and declared a state of emergency.
More than 3000 people have been killed since then and more than a million displaced. Various countries have slapped sanctions on the junta, so far with little obvious effect.
