Fans and supporters of the late Diego Maradona hold a march to demand justice for the death of their idol who died of a heart attack on November 25, 2020, just weeks after undergoing brain surgery. Maradona’s supporters believe his death was caused by medical negligence.

A panel of 20 experts began a debate Monday into the cause of Maradona’s death to determine if there was negligence on the part of health care professionals. Investigators are looking into the health treatment he received prior to his death to determine whether or not to bring a case of wrongful death, a conviction for which would result in a prison sentence of up to 15 years. The panel, which was convened by Argentina’s public prosecutor, is due to deliver its findings in two-three weeks.
