Since March 2022 – conflict across North Kivu has forced more than 800,000 people to flee from their homes, with 300,000 people fleeing their homes in February alone. Among them, are thousands of people with disabilities.
They include people maimed in past and ongoing conflicts, people with disabilities from birth, and others caused by disease in remote rural areas with little healthcare.

Kenya, Uganda, and Burundi have deployed troops to North Kivu.
Angola announced it will only deploy troops when there is a credible sign of peaceful settlement on the ground, ruling out direct confrontation with M23 fighters.
