Amnesty International releases a report on military courts in Libya convicting hundreds of civilians in what they say are ‘secret and grossly unfair military trials’. The report says the aim of these convictions is to punish real or perceived opponents and critics of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces and affiliated armed groups. The first cabinet meeting held outside Tripoli will be held in eastern Libya, called for by the PM. It is a regular cabinet meeting that is usually held in Tripoli. According to the PM, he plans on having cabinet meetings in different cities regularly to show that they are a unity government for all of Libya. The Joint Military Commission holds a meeting with the UN mission in Libya at present. Members of the sub-committees responsible for demining and opening the coastal road will be presenting what they’ve accomplished since their last meeting. They will also discuss the necessary steps for the exit of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya, confidence-building measures to stabilise the ceasefire, and building a joint force that will secure the coastal road.
