Remittances have become a lifeline for many families/Aljazeera.
Remittances have long played a role in Lebanon’s economy but since the collapse four years ago they have become a lifeline for many families.
It’s estimated that between 6 to 7 billion dollars pour into the country a year.
The United Nations says these financial flows help maintain dysfunctional governance if there isn’t more transparency.
