Former Kosovo Liberation Army commander Salih Mustafa goes on trial for war crimes.

He faces charges of illegally detaining, torturing, and killing prisoners in April 1999, at the first trial to be heard at Kosovo Special Chambers in The Hague.

The court has been set up to try former KLA members for alleged crimes committed during the Kosovo war from 1998 to 2000.

The Kosovo Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office have a seat in The Hague, the Netherlands. Their staff is international, as are the Judges, the Specialist Prosecutor, and the Registrar.
