Constitutional court hearing to determine whether the agreement the Italy-Albania migration plan violates Albania’s constitution.

The two countries have agreed to build sea migrant reception centres in Albania to host migrants trying to come ashore in an effort to try to bring down numbers that have nearly doubled in the past year.

Some opposition lawmakers have complained that they were not consulted about the deal by the Prime Minister and about procedural errors during the negotiation and signing of the deal, which must also be authorised by the Albanian President as it affects issues of territory and fundamental rights.
